Planted Tropical Aquarium Upgrade

This is my 2ft tropical aquarium. The following livestock: apistogramma cacatuoides red, Endlers Guppy (Poecilia reticulata), Pygmy Corys, Glowlight Danio, Rasbora Hengeli, Forktail Rainbow Fish, Japanese Marsh or Grass Shrimps (Caridina japonica), Asian Filter Shrimp/Bamboo Shrimp/Wood Shrimp/Fan Shrimp (Atyopsis moluccensis) and Manderin Orange Shrimp.

    Thanks very much. A way to go with this one as I’ve added CO2 and an external filter to try to improve the water for both plants and fish….

    How do you find the apistogramma with the other fish in the tank? Are they quite cichlid-y or are they quite placid? I saw a few of them in my LFS the other day and was tempted but I just managed to get rid of a terrorising Kribensis so don’t want another!

    I bought 1 male and 2 females as my tank wouldn’t support more females. They have cover, plants and a few ‘caves’ under the bog wood. They all behave very well and use the tertas etc as to grow confidence. I have not seen any bullying (and the tank is on my desk). Hope that helps.
