love the tank its fab..im getting discus this week and wanted to ask you a quick question…. as you seem to have just what i want…
its a 260l aqaurium with fluval 405 filter, ,,there 2″ discus 5 of them… am i gonna get away with doing 20% water change weekly?

For them to grow to their full potential I would do 50% a week. I had no luck with my 2″ discus. All eight died over 4 months. When there young they demand very good water quality. I now have seven 6″ discus and they have been doing great for a year and a half. When there older they adjust better to your water and from being shipped. Any questions feel free to ask. I would do 20% every three days if you have the time for the 2″.

ok so what size discus wouyld you recommend where i could do the 40-50% a week change??

You can do 40-50% with the 2″. You can do 20% but they might not grow out to full size. When there small they need frequent water changes to grow. Breeders will do 50% a day. Most of them are expensive but I wouldn’t get anything less then 4″. When there adults there already grown out so you don’t have to worry about water changes three times a week. Nothing against the 2″ but make sure to keep up on their water changes so they can grow to 6-7″.
