www.planetz.com . In parts 3 and 4 of this video series on tone capacitors, I answer some questions and record some more examples. I talk about 50s versus modern wiring, my recording setup and how the audio is processed, measured cap values, and how to do double-blind testing. In part 4, I record another set of examples, now including ceramic caps and distorted examples. The caps I try here are: Orange Drop 225P 100V (polypropylene), Mallory 150 series (metallized polyester film), Russian K-409 PIO (paper in oil), mystery vintage yellow cylinder (possibly paper in wax), the original Epi tone cap from my Riviera (probably mylar polyester film), NTE ceramic, mystery vintage gray cylinder (possibly paper in oil), and a vintage tropical fish (polyester film). Everything is played on my Epiphone Riviera P93 with Vintage Vibe Guitars P-90 pickups, through my Vox VT30 on the Boutique Clean and AC50CP2 models, mic’d with a Rode NT1 large diaphragm microphone.

www.planetz.com . In part one of this video on tone capacitors, I demonstrate the sound characteristics of 7 different capacitors with dialectrics of different material types. The caps I try here are: Orange Drop 225P 100V (polypropylene), Mallory 150 series (metallized polyester film), Russian K-409 PIO (paper in oil), mystery vintage yellow cylinder (possibly paper in wax), the original Epi tone cap from my Riviera (probably mylar polyester film), mystery vintage gray cylinder (possibly paper in oil), and a vintage tropical fish (polyester film). Everything is played on my Epiphone Riviera P93 with Vintage Vibe Guitars P-90 pickups, through my Vox VT30 on the Boutique Clean model, mic’d with a Rode NT1 large diaphragm microphone. In the part two, I’ll demonstrate how the capacitance value affects the range and usefulness of the tone knob.

Tropical fish include fish found in tropical environments around the world, including both freshwater and salt water species. Fishkeepers often use the term tropical fish to refer only those requiring fresh water, with saltwater tropical fish referred to as marine fish.
Tropical fish are popular aquarium fish, due to their often bright coloration. In freshwater fish, this coloration typically derives from iridescence, while salt water fish are generally pigmented.
Tropical fish kept for home aquaria include the following:
* Wild-caught specimens.
* Single-species individuals born in captivity. The latter category includes lines selectively bred for special physical features, such as long fins, or particular colorations, such as albino.
* Hybrids of more than one species.
Recreational SCUBA divers are often enthusiasts of tropical fish as well. Some keep lists of fish species they have observed while diving, especially in tropical marine environments.
Which of these are in this tank??
and which are which?? (Please HELP thanks!)

rare freshwater tropical fish

This is our 85 gallon community aquarium which we set up in October 2007. We bought all the fish as babies last year and they’ve grown huge. As a result, the fish tank is very overcrowded. I am diligent with water quality and try to change 60% every 2 weeks or so. I know I’ll be criticized for the number of fish.
Here’s the list of fish:
4 Black Bar Myleus “Tetra disco” “Blackear Pacu” (Myleus Schomburgki)
3 Common Silver Dollar (Metynnis Hypsauchen or Argenteus)
2 Mystery Silver Dollars (Metynnis Mola or Luna)
1 Flagtail (Semaprochilodus taeniurus)
1 Silver Distichodus (Distichodus affinis)
1 Chinese Hi Fin “Hifin” Banded Shark (Myxocyprinus asiaticus)
1 Earth Eater Cichlid (Geophagus jurupari)
2 Fancy Goldfish (Carassius auratus)
4 Rosy Red Minnow (Pimephales promelas)
3 Angelfish (Pterophyllum scalare)
1 Keyhole Cichlid (Aequidens maroni)
4 Pleco (Plecostomus)
1 Royal Pleco (Panaque nigrolineatus)
1 Blue Gourami ((Trichogaster trichopterus)
9 Bumblebee Goby (Brachygobius xanthozona)
8 Black Neon Tetra (Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi)
3 Rasbora (Rasbora heteromorpha)
2 Albino White Cloud Minnow (Tanichthys albonubes)
2 Darter Fish
1 Bluefin Killifish? (Lucania goodei)
4 Hillstream Loach (Beaufortia kweichowensis)
1 Weather “Dojo” Loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus)
2 Horseface Loach (Acantopsis choirorhynchos)
1 Neon Blue Australian Rainbowfish (Melanotaenia praecox)
6 Kuhli Loach (Pangio kuhlii)
8 Ghost Shrimp (Palaemonetes)
5 Apple Snails (Ampullariidae)
Yes, I know this is an odd ortment of fish. It was an experiment to see if this random group could “hang” together. So far so good. This tank is unusual not only for the variety of species but the size variences which range from 1/2 inch to 9+ inches.
